We warmly welcome you to Drighlington Primary School — a large village school with a genuine family feel, where children and families are known, valued and supported every day. Our ethos of Nurture, Support, Believe, Achieve underpins everything we do. It is reflected in the relationships we build, the care we show and the high expectations we have for every child. When you visit, you will feel that strong sense of belonging — children are happy, confident and proud to be part of our school community.

In July 2025, Drighlington Primary School federated with Robin Hood Primary School to form the Elevate Learning Federation. This partnership strengthens what we can offer our children while keeping that same close-knit, community feel that is so important to us.

Staff from both schools now work closely together, sharing ideas and expertise to continually improve teaching and learning. For example, subject leaders work across both schools to carefully develop the curriculum so that learning builds securely over time. This means children benefit from the combined strengths of both schools, not just one.

For our pupils, this results in a richer experience — with consistent expectations, high-quality teaching and wider opportunities that help them to grow in confidence and ambition. At the same time, the federation strengthens our capacity as a school, ensuring we remain stable, forward-thinking and focused on what matters most: helping every child to thrive.

Being part of the Elevate Learning Federation means we are part of something bigger, while still holding onto what makes Drighlington special — a welcoming, supportive community where every child feels they belong.
