Meet the Governors
Natalie Felton (Chair of Governors)
Email: info@drighlingtonprimary.org.uk
I have been a Governor at Drighlington Primary School since 2013 and was elected Chair of the Governing Body in September 2017, a position that I’m very proud to hold. I sit on both of our committees, Resources and Teaching & Learning. I truly believe that all children deserve the best possible education and that I have the skills to contribute to helping our school achieve the best results for them. In my spare time I like to spend time with my family, read and go the gym.
Charlotte Bowers
I joined the Governing Body at Drighlington Primary School as a co-opted governor in December 2018. I’ve previously worked within the education sector for over 15 years within Human Resources. I wanted to use my experience and knowledge gained to make a valuable contribution to the education of young people and to the local community. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also volunteer with a Brownie Guide Unit assisting with activities, events and overnight camps that give young people the chance to discover their potential and learn about the world around them.
Jayne Ford
I joined the governors at Drighlington Primary School in November 2018 after being a governor for 10 years at another Leeds primary school. I am the Early Years Governor. I am married and have 3 daughters and spending time with family is very important to me. I am a keen football fan and also enjoy eating out, reading and travelling. I have worked in education for over 30 years as a primary school teacher and children’s centre teacher with children from birth to 11 years. More recently I have worked as an Early Years consultant and trainer supporting schools and settings with quality improvement. I am passionate about making a real difference to children’s lives and supporting them to reach their full potential.
Natalie Webster
I started as a staff governor in February 2022. I currently work in KS1 and I am a HLTA covering teacher’s PPA. I have worked at the school for 15 years and all 3 of my children attended Drighlington Primary, which is why I have a passion about the school and making it a success. I would like to offer my knowledge and understanding of being in the classroom to support my role as governor. Out of school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, watching rugby and listening to music.
Paula Beck
I joined the Governing Body at Drighlington Primary School as a co-opted governor in March 2022. I’ve been professionally involved with Schools now for a number of years in my role as a HR Business Partner and I provide HR support to schools including multi academy Trusts across a wide range of HR issues. I am passionate about the education of our children. I strongly believe that all children and young people regardless of their backgrounds are entitled to the best education, in a safe and inspiring environment so that they can achieve the very best start and lead fulfilling lives. When not working I enjoy spending time with family and friends, running, yoga, music and reading.
David Smith
I am a qualified Barrister and higher education (HE) professional and work for a University in Leeds in the areas of quality assurance and higher education regulation. I am currently undertaking a PhD in the area of higher education regulation and am due to complete in the next few years (wish me luck!) I joined the School as a co-opted governor in March 2023 and am on the Resources and Learning and Teaching Committees as part of the governing board. I very much want to use my knowledge and experience to support the School and students in receiving the best possible education. Away from work, I enjoy walking my dog Penny across Yorkshire, and enjoy supporting my football team, listening (and playing) music, reading, and planning my next holiday.
