Fabulous Fun and Luxury Lessons!

We wanted to find out if lessons are fun and fabulous, so that we know how our friends feel about school and the reasons why they want to come to school.

What did we find out?

Someone said "I like PE because I love exercise and running around the playground as it is fun." Someone else stated "I love PE becasue I love using energy." Children explained they love drawing - art was the favourite lesson for many pupils.

They also said some things are repetitive, though this is to help them understand lessons better and make sure they do not get stuck with learning. A student said they love maths because it is challenging and fun.

An important message from our Newsround Reporters

"You may not like all lessons, but you should always have a good growth mindset."

Happy or sad learners?

We wanted to find out what children think about learning in our school and if they enjoy lessons so that we can talk to teachers if we need to change lessons.

What did we find out?

Children say they enjoy learning because they get help from their friends and the teacher. Some children like maths because it is easy now that we do same day intervention help. Pupils rather like lessons and also like the challenges in lessons. They like coming to school to see their friends.

Children in Y6 said they like learning at this school because it is a fun learning environment. Visits like Eden Camp are fun and exciting because you get to learn more.

An important message from our Newsround Reporters

"You need to come to school every day, on time, then you may have a chance of playing Drigopoly with Mrs Runton. You could win a chance card and get a film, movie, popcorn, etc!"

Our team interviewed 26 children on the topic of being safe and happy.

Joe found out that children feel safe and happy in school because they know that teachers will help them with their problems. Hanifa found out that one child said that he likes school because there is lots of equipment in the playground. She also found out one child said we should look out for the little ones as well as the big ones at playtime in case something happens to them.

Liam found out that a child said this school is a good place and he is happy. Armani found out that one of his friends is happy and safe because the school gates are secure. Daisy found out that teachers sort out problems when there is something wrong.

According to our research, we think that most people are happy and safe in this school.

Fabulous Five Start Newspaper Page!

Our Newsround Reporters are Joe, Hanifa, Liam, Armani and Daisy. In assembly today, we talked about them and about the important job they will be doing. They will have to find out what children think about our school and then write reports to share the ideas.

This afternoon, they had their first Newsround meeting - they were given special badges to wear in school. Their first job is to find out what children like about our school.
